Among a ranking of major industries, education often ranks toward the bottom of the list in cybersecurity readiness. A combination of factors makes network security especially tricky in the education sector. In higher education, IT staff support the equivalent of a medium-sized city, populated by a diverse set of users and devices, often spread over a large geographic area. Local school districts often face similar issues, making do with restrained budgets and stretched staff.
Increasingly, the large surface area of exposure and the rich data within campus networks make an attractive target for cyberattacks. SRN has long partnered with educational institutions and school districts to provide engaged consulting services, managed security, and networking equipment at competitive prices. We understand the security risks unique to school and university systems and can help you leverage your limited resources to meet your cybersecurity goals.
The Schools and Libraries (E-rate) Program provides funding towards eligible services for schools and libraries that include internet access, telecommunications services, and related equipment. All public or private schools (K-12), libraries, and groups of schools and libraries (e.g., consortia, districts, systems) can apply for discounts on eligible services.
SRN is proud to be part of E-rate, and support our education customers with discounted services and technology products.
