Secured Retail Networks, Inc. was built on a foundation of experience coupled with an opportunity and desire to do things differently. Founder John Gapinski, has worked in network security since 1995, when the Internet was still in its infancy. Spending the prior few years working with retail companies on security and networking issues, he noticed a lack of boutique service firms that focus on intersection of enterprise security and the unique needs of retail organizations. A myriad of regulations and the explosive use of broadband at the store level was raising the threats to retailers from the new breed of for-profit hackers. Secured Retail was built to deliver exceptional consulting services and solution sets from a single trusted entity, with the unique needs of the retail industry in mind.

the guiding philosophy: A COMPANY BUILT ON QUALITY
Secured Retail's guiding philosophy is based on the Robert Pirsig book, "Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance." Pirsig dismisses the traditional cause-effect world for a new reality based on Quality. This Quality precluded the physical world we are accustomed to, and teaches that our values, and how we abide by them, are what creates our world. We believe this is the correct approach to life, business and everything in between. We approach our business with the highest ethical and moral standards, and believe that this daily approach to business and the results are one in the same — success.

Pirsig also preaches that focus is needed to find Quality — distractions are the enemy. We focus on one market segment, where the needs are all similar, so we can continue to perfect and refine the offerings to this space. The challenges of security need to be approached with careful analysis, the right tools, and a Quality First mindset — there are no shortcuts. Nothing will eliminate risk, in fact, there would be no profit without risk, but a Quality approach will result in preparedness, control and responsiveness to business security risks.

About Our Founder
John Gapinski brings a strong entrepreneurial background to Secured Retail. Previous to founding Secured Retail, John has helped grow several startups in the security and networking space, and has experience from these ventures as an ISP, network security consultant, and in computer forensics investigations. John spent 5 years as a Director for the retail and hospitality markets at SonicWALL, a market leader in network security for distributed networks. John also has worked in the security information management space, a new and critical capability for regulation compliance. These experiences have provided a well-rounded foundation to tackle the complicated requirements facing retailers today.

John has a Bachelor of Science degree in Philosophy, a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and a post graduate work in Computer Science all from the University of Wisconsin.
